Is there any free software or site, that let u do your taxes, to see an estimate of what you might get back ? |
I'm getting my taxes done next week, but wouldn't mind putting in the numbers in another site or software. Just to get atlest an idea on what I might get back. Thanks Tax Act online will let you file online for free if you made a certain income bracket for the year, or you can choose not to file but at least you'll know how much you are getting back. You can use any online tax software as most of them are free to try and you only need to pay if you decide to e-file or print the tax return. If you just want to estimate taxes you can use one of the tax calculators like this one. http://findtaxservice.com/taxcalculator/... www.taxact.com is a place where you can go and get an estimate without submitting your taxes to the IRS. The IRS website I believe can also do a refund estimate without actually submitting your taxes, but I don't remember it. Probably www.irs.gov or something like that. Depending on your income level, a great way to do your own taxes for *nothing* is to visit irs.gov. Click on "Free e-file." As long as your adjusted gross income is less than $52,000, you can choose one of the providers (many listed, including HR Block, TaxCut, etc.) and complete your taxes and e-file for FREE! Your state return is typically not free, but it is a nominal fee-- especially compared to what you would pay if you actually take them somewhere-- and since your federal return is free... If your income is over the limit, you can still use the services, but the fees are slightly higher.... regardless, if all you want to do is "get an idea" you don't pay anything until you actually file-- meaning you can put all of your numbers in and play around with the system without having to pay. You seem like you are confident enough to complete your own taxes on a software program.
