What happens if an employer pays under the table( no taxes taken out)andyou want it to be known? You'll be replaced quickly with another person. No one is indispensable. You are with a wrong employer. Change sides and find someone reasonable with legal and transparent processes, lest you fall in trouble along with him for no fault of yours. You'll get IRS after you for back taxes. Look up BBB and see what they got/ If he gets caught, all the employees could face an IRS audit from the start of their employment. If you REALLY want it to be known, first you have to report it to the IRS. You may do this anonymously, but u have 2 know they WILL track you down, also. If you do report it, you will also have to report if you have been paid under the table and pay taxes on that. Plus, if you have friends that work there, the IRS will make them report their earnings and pay taxes on them; however, the IRS won't release ur name 2 them or 2 the employer, who will also get audited, have 2 pay taxes, and/or face time in prison & make restitution. He'd better have a good attorney, & you should, also, because if ur also guilty of this, they'll come down on u, 2. Think twice before u act. Another option would be to go 2 a legal aid office and ask them to report it or go to the IRS website on a computer other than ur own. I was formerly a paralegal. |
