If you frequent the establishment often and you received great service you won't mind tipping on the total. Tips are normally the primary income for a server and if they perform as such then tip, tip, tip...also be sure to inform the management. You leave the tip on the sub-total. With the tax, waitresses get charged taxes on their tips. They also have to tip out from their tips the bartender, the bussers, and the people who carry out your food. Total bill including tax. with tax. and also, if you're using a coupon or get a discount, you should tip based on the total BEFORE the coupon or discount is taken off. The tip should be calculated on food/beverage. As to the percent, there is usually a minimum, however, if you feel that the server/bartender deserved more, then that is totally up to you to give whatever you feel adequate. |
