After tax. Remember that you are tipping for the full experience, that means you are tipping everybody from the Greeter, the Bus Boy, the waiter/waitress, the Chef, etc... So if the food was great but the server was not, undertipping does not reflect the true service of the restaurant.
Also, if a discount is applied (complimentary entree, etc) the tip is still based on the full amount of the ticket, before discounts.
I add the tip after the sales tax.
I generally tip 20% before tax, depending on level of service; mediocre service is 15%, exceptional service 25%
15% for Good Service.....20% for GREAT service and if the service sux tip accordingly...
dont worry about the percentage tip what you think the service was worth
The total bill including the tax....tip 15-20% of the amount depending on service =]
No clue But I can tell you that I think that paying such a large tip is really stupid. I mean Dont you pay enough already?
