Do strippers at clubs pay taxes on their tips in the U.S?

If you work at a restaurant/bar etc and get tips, the government can't and won't tax your tips I was told.

But is it different with strippers since they get up to a thousand dollars in a night in tips?

You were told wrong. Tips gotten by restaurant workers are definitely 100% taxable legally. Do people cheat? Yes. Do many of them get caught? Also yes. The IRS is very aware that tips are a place people do a lot of tax cheating.

Same thing with strippers. Their tips are 100% taxable. Do most strippers follow the law and report all their tips? I doubt it.
by law, everyone must declare their tips and pay taxes on them, servers, strippers, EVERYONE.
if the stripper was part-time, she probably would not file taxes since its cash

but if she is full time and professional, she should file taxes
Do not believe everything you are told. Any person in any occupation has to report and pay taxes on tips and gratuities.
Everyone is supposed to report tip income. It is subject not only to income tax, but Social Security and Medicare tax as well.
You were told wrong! Put that source on disregard for further tax advice as the person doesn't know what they're talking about!

The government most certainly CAN and DOES tax your tips! Whether you keep your clothes on at work or not.
