What does the term 'Insurance Group:3' mean when your buying a car?

does it mean the cars been in some sort of accident?

no all cars are put in an insurance grouping. The groups go from a group 1 all the way up to 20+
A group 3 is prob a corsa or a higher spec KA. Group 20's are subaru's. Its a low insurance group and basically means it will be cheaper to insure
Cars that have been in accidents are grouped in letters.
Write off cat a-d for example
it means thwe level of money you eill have to pay... I think
Was going to answer, but previous gave you all the info you need. Give her the points
This site will give you the grouping for most cars

All cars are grouped into groups (funnily enough lol).
It all depends on how modern the car is, the value of the car, whether its statictically more liable to be in an accident (corsa's and saxo's are the worst because all these silly racer types drive them), engine size and a few more things.

Insurance groups go from group 1 (small inner city type cars) to group 20 (aston martins, ferraris etc).

Type the car in your looking at and click submit and it will tell you.

Its got nothing to do with whether that individual car has been in an accident, its just lets the insurance companies work out how likely that particular model of car is claimed for, the higher the group, the more likely they there will be some sort of claim on it.
The groups range from 1-20
Group 1 being cheapest to insure
Group 20 being most expensive to insure
